About

Our story

VeePulse started with a problem we were dealing with ourselves.

While working on websites, we found ourselves checking them repeatedly: is the site working, is the SSL certificate still valid, did something go wrong since the last time we looked? It was a small task each time, but doing it again and again was frustrating. And sometimes, despite all that checking, we still found out about a problem later than we should have.

What we looked for, and didn't find

We looked at monitoring tools that already existed. Most of them felt like more than we needed: more configuration, more dashboards, more to learn just to answer a simple question. We wanted something that would quietly watch our websites and tell us when something actually needed our attention. Nothing more elaborate than that.

So we built it for ourselves.

Built by using it

The first version was basic. We used it ourselves, found what was missing, fixed it, and kept improving it, not by guessing what a monitoring tool should have, but by noticing what we personally still had to think about. Over time it became something we actually relied on. It saved us from constantly checking our own websites and gave us a clear signal when there was a real problem.

Then we realized we weren't the only ones

Once VeePulse was solving this for us, it became clear other small businesses and people running their own websites were likely dealing with the exact same thing: the same repeated checking, the same small worry in the back of their mind. That is how VeePulse went from something we built for ourselves to something we decided to make available to others too.

We built VeePulse because we needed it first.

That's still the standard we hold it to today: if it isn't something we'd actually want running quietly in the background of our own websites, it doesn't belong in VeePulse. See what that looks like in practice on the free plan page, or read about what we actually check.
