Which one do I need?
Use the health check when
Your site seems slow or unreachable, a visitor reported a problem, or you are about to set up monitoring and want a baseline. It answers "is anything wrong right now" across the whole request, not just the certificate.
Use the SSL checker when
You only care about the certificate: you just renewed it, a browser is showing a "not secure" warning, or you want to know exactly when it expires and whether it covers the right hostname.
A one-time check is not monitoring
Both tools tell you the state of a website at the moment you run them. They do not keep watching. If an outage or an expiring certificate would cost you customers, you want something checking on a schedule and telling you when it changes. That is the difference between a health check and uptime monitoring.
